借景 Context
Osmosis
Tectonic
Resonance
Context
This project is an office space design located at the intersection of Xinhai MRT Station and Wanfang Mountain, a typical “urban–hill transition zone” at the edge of the Taipei Basin. Through full-height glazing, the ridgelines of Wanfang Mountain, together with sunlight and seasonal shadows, are drawn into the interior, creating a dialogue between landscape and work. This not only enhances natural lighting and brightness but also transforms the space into a structure that responds to its environment.
Osmosis
The spatial configuration adopts “Spatial Osmosis” as its central concept, responding to contemporary work modes that demand adaptability and fluidity, and redefining the workplace as a vessel for ideas and dialogue. Instead of rigid zoning, open and semi-open interfaces allow meeting, discussion, and work areas to shift and merge according to changing needs. Such permeability keeps circulation flexible, adapting naturally to workflows and user patterns; meanwhile, blank spaces and nodes provide transitions and connections, creating layered stages for interaction. Through this permeable relationship, the space not only gains multi-functional elasticity but also generates new patterns of collaboration, reflecting openness and inclusiveness in the workplace.
Tectonic
The ceiling design serves as the spiritual axis of the space, with wooden structures forming an abstract metaphor of mountain ridgelines, echoing the memory of Wanfang Mountain while symbolizing the flow and extension of thought. Straight segments correspond to focused, stable work zones, while curved segments define meeting spaces where creativity and exchange are encouraged—embodying both functional differentiation and psychological cues. The undulation, bending, and play of light and shadow create a nonverbal spatial narrative: as people move, pause, or look upward, the rhythm of the ceiling intertwines with daylight, guiding users into cycles of concentration, transition, and creation.
Resonance
The overall design seeks to synchronize the formation of “space” with the unfolding of “thought.” On the physical level, it accommodates functions; on the perceptual level, it shapes atmosphere and emotion; and on the behavioral level, it fosters collaboration. What emerges is not a singular workplace, but an “urban valley” that gathers inspiration, intertwines ideas, and nurtures the flow of creativity.
